We do not often display large, detailed murals on the internet (this one is a good example of why we do not - the detail is well beyond the capacity of computer screens.)
This is painted on very rough stucco, perhaps the worst possible painting surface for detailed work  -click here for a few detailed photos

Cantina Kitchen (installed)
This was done in the guest house kitchen of a delightful couple in Pottsboro Texas with a great sense of humor - Doug says he has never had so much fun working on a project as he has this one.They call their guest house decorating style "Intentionally Tacky" The guesthouse is nearly 100% murals inside and out, even ceilings and most of the furniture.  Doug carved ceiling moldings in a continuous horizontal totem with no repetition from rough cedar. We will photograph and post the whole project (in progress) on a seperate page once all of the murals are completed. Various detail levels and styles  from cartoon to realism - countertop is extremely detailed (see detail below)

The newspaper (pen and ink lettering with transparent oil paint colorization) is completely legible.  Doug wrote humorous, tounge in cheek articles for the customers declaring the guest house an autonomous nation ("Cantinaland") and the couple King and Queen. One article asks the question "Now that Bruce and Carolyn are King and Queen, who will take out the garbage?  William F. Buckley's opinion became somwhat less clear when he spoke..."
The countertop was painted to look like a cheap Mexican mosaic tile job with black grout with various objects sitting on it.

"Breaktime Installation"
mixture of styles and materials in a college aged nightclub featuring live music -Portraits of local, regional and national musicians cover the entire interior of the room with the stage.  We will photograph the whole project and post it to a separate page soon.  This is a style that can be done for very little money - most of what you see here  was painted within two hours - designed on the spot , with a broken cello in hand.
